UPDATE: Iceland plans opening for non-essential North American travelers
NEW: Video - Safe Travel with Icelandair
NEW: On Board Safety Measures
REMINDER: Travel Policies for Peace of Mind bookings & reservation cancellations

While today, June 15, 2020 marks the official re-opening of Iceland, travelers looking to visit from North America have just a bit longer to wait.

Iceland is Open

Non-essential travel to Iceland by US and Canadian passport holders will be welcomed soon. Currently, only travelers deemed essential are permitted to enter Iceland through the end of June, along with all EU/EEA, EFTA & UK citizens, and those with valid residency permits in any of the Schengen Area nations.

As it stands today, the official target date for welcoming non-essential travelers to Iceland from North America is July 1, however this is highly subject to change. Concurrently, the flight schedule to our US and Canadian gateways is dependent on the easing of these restrictions, and is evaluated on a daily basis.

Please visit our FAQ section for all the most up-to-date information and guidelines for visitors, including updates to our flight schedule, COVID-19 testing at Keflavík Airport, travel restrictions, Iceland's handling of the coronavirus, and much more.

Safe Travel with Icelandair

Icelandair is strengthening its already stringent measures to ensure the safety of every passenger as part of our shared responsibility during COVID-19. Our new video highlights the increased safety and hygiene measures taken as we navigate this epidemic together.
